Listen to the Absurd Remix Album 'Meow The Jewels'

History has been made people. The first album created entirely out of cat noises is here. What started out as a joke that El-P and Killer Mike would remix their latest album Run The Jewels 2 for $40,000 quickly turned real when a Kickstarter campaign actually raised over $65,000. Last night, El-P announced that via Twitter that the album is complete, and available for free download on runthejewels.net. With production from Just Blaze, the Alchemist, Boots, and more, the album is just puuurrrfect (I'm sorry). The original lyrics from Run The Jewels 2 are still there, but all of the production has been stripped away and has been replaced by different cat noises. It's dumb, weird, fantastic, and one of the best things I've heard in my life. All of the proceeds are going to victims of police brutality, and you can purchase a vinyl of the album with faux cat paws on the website as well. Listen to "No Feelings" from PARTYNEXTDOOR and Travi$ Scott

On the second installment of OVO Sound Radio on Apple Music, Drake let off three new songs, including a remix of D.R.A.M.'s "Cha Cha", and a Meek Mill diss track. These songs had the internet ablaze, but Drake also released a new cut from OVO member PARTYNEXTDOOR. "No Feelings" is a short but silky surprise release from the Canadian crooner. Over spacey piano chords, Party lays down vocals about women and drugs with an added verse from Travi$ Scott. The two are becoming a powerful duo, with each new track better than the last and the sound of the pairing is a great mix of each individuals' strengths. No word yet if this will be a part of Party's next project, but Scott stated that his debut album Rodeo will be released on September 4th.  

Listen to Audio Push's 'The Good Vibe Tribe'

To celebrate 4/20, Cali-duo Audio Push released their mixtape The Good Vibe Tribe. This is Audio Push's first full project since 2013's Come As You Are mixtape, which was pretty lackluster and was filled with tracks too laid back for the duo's energy. But since that frankly cheesy project, they have been dropping a lot of bangers, with production handled by HS87 leader Hit-Boy. The Good Vibe Tribe fits much better with Audio Push's sound. Filled with heat and energy, the mixtape is filled with great production mostly from Hit-Boy for Price and Oktane to flaunt over, and they do it perfectly. They sound like a more mature and lyrically-versed Rae Sremmurd with Hit-Boy acting as their Mike-Will. There are obvious weed-influences in the mixtape, like with the song "Mary Jane", but the mixtape is filled to the brim with high energy, explosive tracks instead of laid-back, cliche marijuana anthems. And with features from Vince Staples, Casey Veggies, OG Maco, Isaiah Rashad, and G-Easy, this tape is a must-listen. The Good Vibe Tribe should hold you over until Audio Push releases their debut album later this year.

Listen to Some New Heat From Vic Mensa, Freddie Gibbs, and A$AP Rocky

Following the surprise collab between Kanye West and Vic Mensa on West's "Wolves", Mensa released his own Kanye-assisted song today called "U Mad". Vic has been dropping a few heaters this past year, but "U Mad" is his biggest banger to date. The boisterous track will be his break-out track, without a doubt. It's a goddamned banger, no other way to explain it.

Kaytranada, a producer who's worked with Mensa a few times before, just dropped a new track with Freddie Gibbs called "My Dope House". It's a lo-fi song, but the bass hits hard and is addicting. Freddie Gibbs x Kaytranada might be as great of a duo as Freddie Gibbs x Madlib.

We're inching closer and closer to A$AP Rocky's second album A.L.L.A. A few days ago, Rocky dropped a third single on his Soundcloud called "M'$". This is the song that was featured at the end of the "Lord Pretty Flacko Jodye 2" music video. "M'$" has a more complex beat, similar to those on Long.Live.A$AP, but I like the more low-key bangers that Rocky has been putting out like "Multiply" and "LPFJ2". But Flacko still stunts all over the songs, and crafted another banger.

Watch Kendrick Lamar's Music Video for "King Kunta"

Fresh off the release of his second major label album, Kendrick Lamar released the visuals for the track "King Kunta". After first projecting it on a billboard in the middle of Times Square, the official video was released on YouTube. It's a simple video, featuring Kendrick mobbing through the streets of Compton in a low-rider, dancing in and on top of buildings, and straight stunting in the middle of a parking lot. Listen to a New Jay Electronica Song "Road to Perdition"

There is probably not a single more lyrically gifted rapper than Jay Electronica. But there is also probably not a single rapper who is more secretive than Jay Electronica. He grabbed everyone's attention in 2007 with his mixtape Act 1: Eternal Sunshine (The Pledge) where Jay Elect spit over the soundtrack of Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind without any drums, and with two amazing singles in 2009. Since then, Jay Elect has signed to Roc Nation... and that's about it. The man hasn't released any official projects since then, has lent a few features here and there, but remains extremely secretive. His style is unique, to say the least. He raps over spoken word and Willie Wonka samples, often uses beats with no drum loops, and rhymes about gods and pharaohs. His one-of-a-kind style and immense lyricism has made fans crave for his debut album. And it appears it may be on the way.

An hour ago, Jay Electronica released via his Twitter a new song entitled "Road to Perdition". It's a booming, confident, frankly amazing new song. Over children cheering, sharp drums, and a Jay-Z sample, Elect goes in. He then tweeted (and shortly after deleted) "Can you smell what #TheRoc is cooking?" This could mean that his debut album, which supposedly is titled Act II: The Patients of Nobility (The Turn), since "Road to Perdition" is on a supposed tracklist (below) which Jay Electronica tweeted out, and then deleted. Almost exactly one year ago, Jay Electronica released the gorgeous track "better in tune with the infinite" and the remix to "We Made It", one of the best songs of last year. So maybe March is just the month that Jay Elect decides to release songs, but hopefully we will get Act II this year.

A Load of New Songs Were Released This Week

Remember that little performance in Britain? The official version was released today, and dear lord it's amazing. After revealing that his next LP is entitled So Help Me God, Kanye officially dropped his newest banger "All Day". It's just as epic and bombastic as the Brit performance. There's an extended ending with guitar provided by Paul McCartney and vocals by Theophilius London. My only complaint is that Allan Kingdom's hook somewhat sounds a bit like a dying animal. That's a bit too harsh but it does sound somewhat weird. But nonetheless, "All Day" is a song I've already been blasting all day long.

Later this month, the world will finally be blessed with Action Bronson's first commercial album. And today he released a new single, entitled "Baby Blue". The track is produced by Mark Ronson oddly enough, and features an ending from Chance the Rapper. The song is hilarious and filled with great quotables, and looks like Mr. Wonderful will definitely be a great album.

Last Saturday, Ab-Soul completed forty-seven stops on his These Days tour. In honor of it, he tweeted a link to a short new song entitled "47 Bars". Soul effortlessly flows over an Alchemist-produced beat. He tweeted the song and said "I might get dropped from the label for this one", which may be showing that there's some trouble brewing at Top Dawg, but you can enjoy the song anyways.

Fresh off the success of his first major label LP, Logic surprised his fans with a new, Big K.R.I.T-assisted song "Top Ten". Produced by in-house producer 6ix, the track is smooth, and reaffirms that both MC's are at the top of their game. Catch K.R.I.T. at Forecastle this summer, which I will be documenting, and catch Logic's sophomore album which should come out this year, or early next.

Chicago's hip-hop scene is popping, with artists like Mick Jenkins, BJ the Chicago Kid, Vic Mensa, and Chance the Rapper. But there are many smaller artists who have been steadily rising up, one of which is Towkio. Part of Mensa's SAVEMONEY crew, Towkio is working on a new project. The newest cut, "Free Your Mind" shows that this project will be great. With production from the Social Experiment, and with trumpets from Donnie Trumpet, the song is an upbeat, dance-able song that mixes jazz with EDM. The track is a great teaser for Towkio's next project.

Listen to New Cuts From Kanye West & Rihanna, Vic Mensa, and Travi$ Scott

Both Kanye West and Rihanna are gearing up to release their respective album this year. Last Sunday, they released a collaborative song featuring Paul McCartney entitled "Four Five Seconds". McCartney supplies an acoustic guitar that both West and Rihanna croon over. It's stripped down, simple, and quite frankly, lovely. While Kanye's so far untitled album has been said to sound "hellish", but this new single, and "Only One" also featuring McCartney couldn't be more different.

Vic Mensa has been grinding over the last year, working on this next project and touring heavily. He just recently dropped a new track with past collaborator Kaytranada called "Drive Me Crazy". Kaytranada is a Canadian producer, who creates hip-hop/electric beats, and produced Mensa's "Wimme Nah". This new track, which is technically Kaytranada featuring Mensa, is much less hype than "Wimme Nah", and sounds very spacey. It's a slick track that'll appear on Kaytranada's debut LP, and Mensa will also be dropping a new project entitled Street Lights soon.

Three days ago, Travi$ Scott announced a tour with Metro Boomin and Young Thug (sadly no stops in Louisville). This is for his debut album Rodeo, and he also dropped two new tracks, which will probably appear on this album "Nothing But Net" featuring PARTYNEXTDOOR and Young Thug, and "High Fashion" featuring Future. I like these songs, but I don't love them. Scott is a master at combining lush trap beats with explosive vocals. But "Nothing But Net" has this weird auto-tune throughout it, a grimy over-all sound, and PARTYNEXTDOOR's feature is wasted on a half-hook. And the production on "High Fashion" sounds pretty stagnant, which is very unlike Scott. Nevertheless, I can't wait for Rodeo, which supposedly may be dropping this March.

Rome Fortune Releases New Song, Also Heads to Jail

If you haven't heard of Rome Fortune yet, now is the perfect time to catch up. He's an eccentric Atlanta rapper with a blue beard, and a knack for being able to flow over basically any production. If Fortune's on a track, you know it's gonna be a banger. He released an awesome, varied mixtape last year entitled Small VVorld, and earlier this year dropped a collaborative EP with OG Maco,who he works frequently with, called YEP. Out of the unique, newcomers from Atlanta like ILoveMakkonnen, Father, and OG Maco, Fortune is probably the strongest rapper.

Most of Fortune's songs are pretty hype, but today he dropped a more personal song called "Pure". But sadly, Fortune also announced that he was heading for jail. He turned himself in due to his "stupid ass past" catching up to him, according to his Twitter. Luckily, he said that he'd only be in jail for about a month, so in that time make sure you get up-to-date with this up-and-coming rapper.

Listen to Raury's Uplifting Track "Fly"

In the midst of a small tour through Florida and Alabama, ATL musician Raury, released a new song entitled "Fly". The song was apparently written right after the news that Darren Wilson wouldn't be indicted was announced. But unlike many of the other songs about the announcement that are spiteful and angry, Raury takes a different, and much better approach. Raury sings that we'll fly above all of the darkness that's plaguing us currently, and looks towards a brighter future. The song is entirely acoustic, and relies much less on instrumentation that Raury's last project Indigo Chilc, but this helps his message get across better. New Release: New Song and Big News from Action Bronson

Last year, Action Bronson released one of the best songs of the year, "Easy Rider". The psychedelic track matched perfectly with Bronson's smooth, yet crazy rhymes. This was the first track off of his album Mr. Wonderful, but we haven't heard any new songs or information, until yesterday. Out of no where, the Flushings rapper dropped "Actin Crazy". The song features the same ridiculous, but smooth as hell verses from Bronson that we know an love, but with a laid back production from none other than Noah "40". I can think of few odder pairs then Drake's main producer and Bronson, but the track sounds awesome.

And that's not all that Bronson released. He tweeted out his tracklist, which is below, along with the features (Chance the Rapper, Mayhem Lauren, Chauncey Sherod, and of course, Party Supplies and Big Body Bes). He also announced that the album will be released on March 24th. The album isn't available for pre-order yet, and the album artwork still hasn't been released to the public as of yet. But peep the tracklist below, and get excited for the debut album from Mr. Wonderful himself.

Listen to Two New Tracks Released On New Years

While everyone else was out partying, two huge rappers were working. On New Years Eve and Day, both A$AP Rocky and Kanye West released new songs

The first, by Rocky, is called "Lord Pretty Flacko Jodye 2". We heard a short snippet of it in the "Multiply" music video. Similarly to "Multiply", the production isn't too complex, but still sounds great. And Rocky stunts all over the track. Hopefully everyone blared this track at their New Years party.

The second song is called "Only One" is Kanye's first solo song since Yeezus. Forget the arrogance, or the "hellish" sounds that his next project is supposed to sound like, "Only One" is a touching, personal song from the point of view from Kanye's late mother. The song has accompanying vocals from Ty Dolla $ign and keys from Paul McCartney. While the song is very surprising, and it's great to hear Kanye getting personal again, their is a slight autotune throughout the entire song that gets pretty obnoxious. But it appears like Yeezy, and Flacko, season are finally here.

Check Out Joey Bada$$'s New Music Video "No. 99"

Joey Bada$$ is gearing up to drop his debut album. After releasing the singles and accompanying videos of "Big Dusty" and "Christ Conscious", Bada$$ released the third single with one of the coolest videos he's made: "No. 99".

The video shows Bada$$ as a vigilante named "Badmon". Between battles with the police and media coverage, Badmon and his crew incite protests across Brooklyn. The song features Bada$$ flexing his lyrical chops over a bombastic production by Statik Selektah. Bada$$ spits flows against the government and police alongside images of Eric Garner and Micheal Brown. The video ends on a touching note, with a dedication to Bada$$'s cousin Junior B, who tragically passed away on December 6th.

Listen to PARTYNEXTDOOR's New EP "PNDCOLOURS"

PARTYNEXTDOOR has had a fantastic 2014. From touring with Drake to releasing one of the best albums of the year, he's been owning this year. And to finish it off, the signer/producer released a new EP entitled PNDCOLOURS.

The EP was released alongside a world tour announcement (sadly no stops in Louisville). The four track EP contains the smooth, hazy production and semi-autotuned singing PARTYNEXTDOOR is known for. PNDCOLOURS contains features Ca$h Out and Travi$ Scott, which is odd considering the only other featured artist that PARTY has had on his records has been Drake. The song with Scott, called "Juss Know" showcases the two artist harmonizing in a higher pitch than both artists, and sounds completely different than either artist. Needless to say, the EP is fantastic, and you can cop it for free here.

Listen to James Fauntleroy's Free Project "The Warmest Winter Ever"

Even if you've never heard of James Fauntleroy, you've probably heard of his work. He is a gifted writer, working on most of Justin Timberlake's 20/20 Experience Part 1&2, as well as working closely with legendary producer No I.D. Fauntleroy also contributes vocals to many artists, such as Jhene Aiko, Common, and Travi$ Scott. Last night, Fauntleroy released a free project via his SoundCloud entitled The Warmest Winter Ever. The ten-track project is very short, with a run time of less than twenty minutes. Fauntleroy croons over simplistic instrumentals of warm acoustic guitars and drums. He uses his voice as an instrument, quietly moaning in the back of many songs that sounds similar to a synthesizer. Fauntleroy weaves together harmonic melodies and lovely lyricism into a short, nice holiday project. Cozy up by the fire to The Warmest Winter Ever this holiday season.

Listen to the Social Experiment's Newest Single "Sunday Candy"

A month ago, Chance the Rapper announced that he and his band the Social Experiment would be releasing a free album by years end. Besides small amounts of information about the album, and fans waiting patiently for news, there was very little information given from Chance. But two days ago, the Social Experiment released the very first single from their first album Surf: "Sunday Candy".

Surf is primarily a Donnie Trumpet album. Trumpet, who's real name is Nico Segal, was a former bandmate of Vic Mensa in Kids These Days, but currently is plays the trumpet in the Social Experiment. While Surf will still feature Chance and the rest of the Social Experiment, Trumpet has the most artistic say in the album. And on the first single "Sunday Candy" you can hear Trumpet's influence. Donnie Trumpet produces the track, which encompasses live instrumentation of trumpets, bass, piano, and drums all wrapped up in a sweet product. The single features Chance rapping over most of it, and the hook and bridge sung by Jamila Woods. The song is upbeat and happy, while superb production. Chance and Woods rap/sing about grandmas, church, and love. It's a lovely song that could go against Pharrell's "Happy" and win for the Most Uplifting Song Award.

At first, I was wary of Chance's move to rely so heavily on the Social Experiment. I wasn't the hugest fan of songs like "I Am Very, Very Lonely" and "Home Studio", but recent songs like "Wonderful Everyday" and "Sunday Candy" are absolutely stunning. Few groups can create upbeat tracks without seeming corny, and the Social Experiment is doing just that, which I can stand behind. Look out for the release of Surf, and have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Listen to BJ The Chicago Kid's Flashy New Mixtape "The M.A.F.E. Project"

After teasing his fans with random songs from his SoundCloud, BJ The Chicago released an official new project yesterday. Entitled the M.A.F.E. Project, the mixtape features nine previously released singles and three completely new songs. Many of the songs are remixes or covers, such as "Gimme Mo", "Strawberry Bubblegum ;)" and Aaliyah's "One In A Million" (with accompanying music video), but there are also many original songs on the project as well. The project features ScHoolboy Q, Freddie Gibbs, Smoke DZA, and Sasha Go Hard. The project has a more-poppy sound than BJ's previous projects, possibly due to the cover choices. BJ sounds much more confident on the project, singing more like mainstream R&B artists. There is a lot of voice-altering technology on the project, somewhat similar to another Chicago native Kanye West (BJ even samples West's "Hold My Liquor" and "I'm In It". While I really love BJ's unique, Motown-esque sound, the M.A.F.E. Project still sounds as gorgeous and soulful as BJ's previous songs. Make sure to cop the free mixtape, and be on the look out for BJ's first official album through Motown Records in the coming months.

Three Awesome New Singles Were Released Today

Last night, Eminem dropped a new single from his upcoming album SHADYXV titled "Detroit Vs. Everybody". The new track features practically every rapper from Detroit: Eminem, Royce Da 5'9", Big Sean, Dej Loaf, Trick Trick, and Danny Brown. It's awesome to hear all these rappers who all have completely different styles come together to represent their city. Dej Loaf raps the chorus, while Royce Da 5'9", Big Sean, Danny Brown, and Eminem all go in on their verses, especially Danny Brown. While the song completely reps the northern Michigan city, the production is handled by outsider Statik Selektah. Make sure you cop SHADYXV on November 24th.

A few days ago, A$AP Ferg posted an Instagram video of him in the studio, telling his fans that he has a mixtape coming out soon entitled FERG FOREVER. And today, he dropped the first single, "This Side" featuring YG.  East Coast meets West Coast on this new certified banger. Ferg experiments with some new flows on the track, and Ferg's soon-to-be tourmate YG spits hot fire. With A$AP Rocky's album coming soon, A$AP Nast's mixtape, and FERG FOREVER, the A$AP Mob is set to take over 2015.

Rick Ross also released a new track today. The fourth single off of Hood Billionaire, is called "Movin' Bass". The track features Jay-Z rapping the hook, and Ross detailing his days of drug slinging. While not as strong as the previous Ross/Hov collab on "The Devil is a Lie", it's still nice to hear new music from the pear aficionado, especially over a Timberland production. Catch Hood Billionaire, Ross's second album this year, on November 24.  

Nas is Back

Fall is usually when big artists begin to drop new projects. While we have releases from Big K.R.I.T., Eminem, and Rick Ross, artists like Kendrick Lamar, Kanye West, and Frank Ocean have all promised new albums soon, but seem to be failing to follow through after months of teasing. But thankfully, we have one release to look forward to: Nas.

Arguably one of the best rappers of all time, Nas just celebrated the 20th anniversary of his standout debut album Illmatic by releasing a remastered version of the album and a documentary. Nas also jumped on the remix of Schoolboy Q's "Studio", and rapped that he has "Finished up my new album, single 'bout to be dropping". And yesterday, Nas followed through on this lyric. After showcasing his new single with a private audience at the Run The Jewels show, Nas officially released his first single, entitled "The Season". The new track is produced by the late-and-great J Dilla, and these two hip hop gods on the same record leaves fan wanting more. It looks like Nas Season is upon us.

Listen to Chance the Rapper's New Song "No Better Blues"

Chance the Rapper has been blowing up recently. Without ever releasing any for purchase-projects, and only two mixtapes, Chance has garnered a huge worldwide following. Following the success from his breakout mixtape Acid Rap, Chance has been touring constantly and featured on songs with various artists, such as SZA, James Blake, Skrillex, and Justin Bieber. Additionally, he has created a band called the Social Experiment, which is made up of Chance and musicians Nate Fox and Peter Cottontale, among others. Most of the songs the Social Experiment has released so far feature stripped-down producings, and soulful rapping by Chance. Yesterday, Chance and the Social Experiment released a new song, entitled "No Better Blues". The song is a satire of pessimism and criticism, and features Chance singing/rapping over a slow piano and drum production. Chance lists everything he hates for the entirety of the song, but most of them are paradoxical, such as "I hate to love and I love to hate" and "I hate racists, I hate white people". There's no word yet when Chance will be dropping a new project, or what the project will be, but judging by his rising popularity and then new songs he's released, there will probably be a new project fairly soon.
